PTR on Campus makes
PTR certification and membership available and
affordable to full time college or high school
students between the ages of 16-24 with an approximate
4.0 NTRP playing level or higher. PTR on Campus
members are full PTR Members who receive the same
member benefits and opportunity for certification.
For a full list of benefits, click here.
Total initial cost
is only $125 (a savings of 62% off the regular
price of $330) for a PTR on Campus student to
join PTR, get the certification study materials,
attend a PTR Teaching Essentials Workshop and
take the PTR certification tests. While a student
and 23 years old or younger, the annual dues
are only $25.
With many tennis
clubs only hiring certified and insured teaching
professionals, obtaining a PTR Certification will
put you in a strong position to land a teaching
position; a small investment with a big payoff
for your potential full or part time job. We also
offer liability insurance for only $20/year for
PTR on Campus members (normal cost is $40/year),
another benefit and attribute that will put you
ahead of the pack.
Once you join as
a PTR on Campus member, you have the option of
attending a complimentary PTR Teaching Essentials
Certification Workshop ($95 value) either on a college campus or at any of our other workshop
locations.
"The Teaching
Essentials Workshop not only helped me to pass
the certification tests, it made me a better,
more confident tennis teacher. My students and
tennis director noticed the difference immediately.
After graduation, the PTR Certification helped
me to land the job at the club I wanted "
- Tim Shaw, University of Wisconsin.

“There
is a huge void in the number of younger people teaching
tennis today,” said Dan Santorum, PTR’s
CEO. “PTR on Campus addresses this issue and
will help ensure a younger generation of tennis
teaching professionals will continue to grow the
game. With the popularity of tennis growing faster
than any other traditional sport, we anticipate
many job opportunities for well trained young professionals.”
In an effort to grow the game,
students are offered the opportunity to learn
to teach tennis, obtain liability insurance and
maintain PTR membership at prices most students
can afford. In exchange, students are asked to
give back to their communities by providing 10
hours of free tennis lessons. Through the education
provided by the PTR on Campus program, students
who teach tennis can help pay their tuition, supplement
their income, or save for the future. In addition,
they will be prepared for a full or part time
career in tennis if they so choose.
